PURPOSE:To obtain a display device having sufficiently high responsiveness with an action display by comparing plural screens with each other after storing them temporarily in a memory and controlling a display element after detecting the movement of the displayed screen. CONSTITUTION:The video signal applied to a line 105 is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 106 and stored temporarily in a memory 108. The signal stored in the memory 108 is read out to a line 109 with a delay of exact one-screen time (or several-screen time), and a subtractor 110 performs an operation between the screen of a line 107 and that of the line 109. As a result, a difference between the preceding screen 109 and the present screen 107, i.e., a movement signal is obtained on a line 111. This movement signal is added to the video signal 107 by an adder 12 in order to obtain a signal that controls a switch S. The switch S changes the duty of the signal which is applied to the display element. |
