<p>An improved adjustable candleholder (10) that allows candles of various diameters and shapes to be centrally located and perpendicularly secured within the candleholder. The candleholder (10) is comprised of a base assembly (12), consisting of an upper section (12a) and a lower section (12g), and a candleholder mechanism (14) that is housed and secured within the upper section (12a). The mechanism, in the preferred embodiment, includes a pinion gear (17c) that operates three rack gears (16b) having a clamping segment (16d) located on top of each rack gear. The segments expand and retract in a circular motion to increase or decrease the clamping diameter. To operate the candleholder, the lower section (12g) is held stationary while the upper section (12a) is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction to increase the clamping diameter of the mechanism. A candle is then inserted and the upper section is rotated in a clockwise direction until the clamping segments (16d) grip and secures the candle. </p> |
