In a device (11) for holding the mast (2) of a windsurfing board (1), consisting of a holding element (12) set into the windsurfing board and a sleeve (13) connected to the holding element (12) and receiving the mast (2) in an articulated fashion, a clamp jaw (21) with adjustable clamping force is arranged between the mast and the holding element (12) in order to uncouple the sleeve. It is possible, with this construction, to mount or demount the mast (2) on or from a windsurfing board (1) in a short period of time and without removing the holding element (12) from the windsurfing board (1). Furthermore, the force, by means of which the connection between the holding element (12) and the sleeve (13) is to be released, can be adjusted easily and accurately. <IMAGE>
