PURPOSE:To cool a disk winding efficiently by a method wherein an upper outside insulation cylinder, which covers the top end of the winding to the lower part in a specific range of the height, is provided and a lower outside insulation cylinder is provided beneath the upper outside insulation cylinder and a gap is formed between two outside insulation cylinders at the lower portion in that specific range of the height. CONSTITUTION:An upper outside insulation cylinder 8 is provided to the upper outside portion of a disk winding 2 and this upper outside insulation cylinder 8 has such vertical length as it covers from the top end of the disk winding 2 to beyond the lower end of the range of the height shown by equation I . A lower outside insulation cylinder 9 is provided to the lower outside portion of the disk winding 2 and this lower outside insulation cylinder 9 has a smaller diameter than the upper outside insulation cylinder 8 and has such vertical length as it covers from the lower end of the range of the height (h) to the lower end of the disk winding 2. With this constitution, coolant, descended along a wall of a machine tank 1 is prevented from being drawn into the range of the height (h) by the coolant ascending along the disk winding 2, and interfering the cooling of the unit windings 3 so that the local temperature rise at the part of the range of the height (h) is suppressed. |
