PURPOSE:A printer capable of easily controlling transfer of an image formed at an image-forming part and requiring a small image memory capacity, wherein an image-forming body is constituted of an image-forming part and an image non-forming part, and the image-forming part can be moved relatively to the image non-forming part. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 101 is constituted of the image-forming part 102 and the image non-forming part 103, and the image-forming part 102 can be moved in the direction of an arrow by a solenoid 108 through a movable shaft 105. When the image-forming part 102 is located at a transferring point 9 and is provided thereon with a toner image to be transferred, a transfer roller 8 and the part 102 cooperate with each other in feeding a paper, and the toner image is transferred onto the paper 23. After transferring is completed, the condition of a bit pattern memory is inspected, and when writing is not yet completed, exposure to light at a light exposure point 22 is not conducted, and the image-forming part 102 is set in a retracted condition. |
