PURPOSE:To discharge noxious gas and avoid the damage caused by the pressure difference by providing a valve which discharges the gas inside a vertical submerged pump motor and a valve which introduces the outside pressure to correct the drop of the inside pressure of the motor. CONSTITUTION:A motor is composed of a stator 7 and a rotor 22 in a cylindrical frame 1 and a pump (not shown in the figure) is coupled to the top portion (right side of the figure) of a motor shaft 23. The motor is supported by the frame 1 with a help of an upper bracket 11 and a lower bracket 17. A diaphragm chamber 53, in which a diaphragm 54 is housed, is provided beneath the lower bracket 17. When the motor is submerged in water and the outside pressure rises, the pressure difference is absorbed by the expansion of the diaphragm 54 and if the pressure difference exceeds the prescribed value, for instance 0.5kg/ cm<2>, a valve 75 is opened and water flows in to eliminate the pressure difference. When the temperature rises due to the motor driving, noxious gas, latent in several parts, is precipitated and gathered at the top part of the pump. If the inner pressure exceeds the prescribed value, a valve 74 is opened and the gas is discharged. With this constitution, the damage is avoided. |
