Appts. comprises a continuous casting mould having adjustable side walls contacting the inside surface of the front and rear walls of the mould. A recess is formed along each contacting edge of the side walls, and an elongate closed end slot formed in the base of the recess. A low friction, thermally stable, compressible insert, pref. of polytetrafluoroethylene is removably fitted into each recess. Cooling fluid ducts are provided in each side plate with adjusting mechanism for movement of the side plates between the front and rear plates. |
