<p>A description is given of an automatic device for the rapid locking of the rolling-up of a belt with a principal housing 14, a rolling-up pin 2 with associated rolling-up spring and rolled-up belt band 1, and a locking mechanism, consisting of a mass-force receiver 8, 9, a locking ratchet 4 arranged with the possibility of movement, a toothed locking wheel 3 and a control part 5, 6 carrying the mass-force receiver 8, 9 and equipped with a stopping/actuating disc 5 which can rotate freely in a position which is concentric with the rolling-up pin 2 and with respect to the receiver and intended to mesh the locking ratchet 4 with the toothed locking wheel 3, and with a rotary inertia weight (mass) 7 for actuating the locking ratchet when an excessive acceleration of the belt band is produced. In order further to improve an automatic device of this type, retaining small construction dimensions and additionally simplifying manufacture, provision has been made according to the invention for the control part 5, 6 to have, apart from the stopping/actuating disc 5, a toothed control wheel 6 which supports the latter and which is mounted on the rolling-up pin 2 and is provided with a ratchet 10 resting in a freely rotational manner, provision also having been made for the supporting point 10a of the ratchet 10 to be arranged in an off-centre position, forming a long lever 10e and a short lever 10f, and, on the rotary inertia weight 7, for it to be possible for projections 7b, 7c to be made to interact with the ends 10b, 10c of the ratchet.
