PURPOSE:To make it possible to cool heat pipes effectively by a method wherein in the case of the oil tank cooling device for a tunnelling machine or the like, the heat pipes are provided in such a manner that the lower part of each of the pipes is in contact with oil in the oil tank and the upper part thereof is in contact with water flowing through a water passage provided at the upper part of the oil tank. CONSTITUTION:The water passage 2 for draining water in a pit is arranged on the upper part of the side surface of the oil tank 1 and a plurality of heat pipes 3 are arranged aslant at equal intervals so as to extend between the water passage 2 and the oil tank 1. In this case, the upper end of each of the pipes 3 is made to extend into the water passage 2 while the lower part thereof extends up to the bottom surface of the oil tank 1 so that the heat pipe 3 absorbs heat at the lower part thereof and discharges heat into the drain flowing through the water passage at the upper part thereof. Consequently, it is possible to obtain a high cooling effect and to miniaturize the oil tank without the necessity of using a specific motive power. |
