<p>The invention relates to N-arylsulfonyl-N'-pyrimidinyl ureas of the general formula <IMAGE> (I) and to the salts thereof with amines, alkali metal hydroxides or alkaline earth metal hydroxides or with quaternary ammonium bases. These compounds have good pre- and postemergence selective herbicidal and growth regulating properties.
