PURPOSE:To provide a light emitting diode device which can readily and accurately decide the relative position between a light emitting element and an optical such as a lens in the light emitting diode device combined with a surface radiation type semiconductor light emitting element and the optical system such as lens or the like. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting diode element 11 is placed and fixed onto a desired vessel substrate, the electrode of the element 11 and an external connection terminal provided at the substrate are connected via lead wirings, and transparent resin 13 such as epoxy resin or the like is dropped or coated on the light emitting surface S on the element 11. Subsequently, a spherical lens 12 is placed on a light emitting diode 11 under a solid microscope, observed directly from above, and positioned so that four corners of the element 11 to be observed without superposition with the lens 12 become equal areas. In the steps, the four corners of the element 11 (which are designated by regions of hatched lines) are positioned to be observed only for the equal areas outside the lens 12. Then, eye's illusion can be prevented. To this end, the lens 13 having a diameter D smaller than the 10 to 50(mum) from the diagonal line L of the light emitting surface of the element 11 may be used. |
