The device comprises a series of variable-flexibility rods (30) arranged side by side in the same plane and held at their ends in supports (22 and 23) fixed against a sole-plate (21). The variable-flexibility rods are constituted by a tubular sleeve (41) through which passes a cable (45), the ends of which are fitted with an adjustment screw (44) engaging in bushes (42) crimped onto the tubular sleeve (41).
