Lens of heat-curable synthetic resin with refractive index 1.55-1.65, having hard coating on a surface thereof. Lens material comprises as main components 9-80 wt.% of at least one vinylbenzene of formula (1) and 20-80 wt.% bisacrylate of formula (2) where X=Cl, Br, I; R1=H or Me; m=0-5; n=0-2. Hard coating is of a compsn. (A) with as main components (3) cpd. of formula (R2)aSi(R3)b(OR4)4-a-b, which is hydrolysed; (4) at least one epoxy cpd. and/or at least one polyalkylene glycol; and (5) a hardening agent, where R2 is organic radical contg. at least one vinyl, amino, imino, epoxy, methacryloxy, phenyl, or SH gp.; R3 is H, 1-6C hydrocarbon radical or vinyl; R4 is 1-5C hydrocarbon gp., 1 (sic)-5C alkoxyalkyl, or 1-4C acyl; a=1 or 2 and b=0 or 1 such that (a+b)=at most 2. (A) bears an antireflection coating (B) of inorganic material, partic. contg. at least one of TiO2, Ti2O3, Ta2O5, ZrO2, HfO2, Yb2O3, Y2O3, Si3N4, Al2O3, MgF2. Coating (A) bears inorganic hard coating (C), partic. of Al2O3 and/or SiO2, between it and (B). Or hard coating is compsn. (D), contg. at least 2 of (3), (4), (5) and (6), where (b) is a metal chelate, metal alcoholate, metaloxy halogen cpd., melat ester or hydrolysis prod. thereof. (D) bears an inorganic antireflection coating (E), partic. as in (B) above or SiO2, or an organic antireflection coating (F), partic. contg. as main components cpds. (3), (4) and (5). (D) bears coating (E) and also an inorganic hard coating (G), partic. as in (C) above, and partic. also an antireflection coating (H) of at least 2 of SiO2, Y2O3, Yb2O3, TiO2, Si3N4, Ti2O3, Ta2O5, ZrO2, HfO2 and Al2O3 between (D) and (G).
