Device for shelling ears of corn (maize), comprising a support chassis and a feed hopper mounted in its upper part under which there are arranged at least one pair composed of a drum and a mating drum fitted into one another and successively connected to the support chassis, and screens connected by a fan and slideways in order to discharge impurities, shells and the grains, characterised in that the drum 3, which is cylindrical, is surrounded by a cone 21 and in that the mating drum 2 is conical and arranged with its end of large diameter turned towards the feed hopper 1, the axes of the drum and of the mating drum being vertical, whilst their peripheral surfaces are composed of rods, the rods of the drum 3 being mounted on a hose along a helical line with a uniform spacing between them, whilst the rods of the mating drum 2 are arranged along the generatrix of the cone, the inclined plane surrounding the mating drum 2 being mounted on the support chassis. <IMAGE>
