PURPOSE:To reduce rolling resistance without damaging endurance by forming belt material and carcass material of radial-ply tire for car by means of compound carbon fiber yarn, the exterior of which is covered with organic fiber yarn. CONSTITUTION:Compound carbon fiber yarn is made by covering a core material made of carbon fiber yarn of more than 100kg/mm.<2> strength and more than 3,000kg/mm.<2> tensile modulus through twisting round or weaving into the exterior of the core material, such organic fiber yarn as made of natural fiber yarn, regenerated fiber yarn, synthetic fiber yarn or mixture of these fibers. The compound carbon fiber yarn is used as material for a belt part 1' and a carcass part 2'. Due to the above-mentioned structure, thermal resistance and endurance of the captioned tire reaches the same level as that of a steel belt tire and rolling resistance can be reduced. |
