The invention relates to an arrangement for reducing the structure-borne sound transmission and for improving the isolating effect of helical steel springs. It is the aim and object of the invention to reduce the annoyance caused by noise by an arrangement for steel springs, in which, in the structure-borne sound range, an intensive damping of the natural vibrations of the steel spring takes place, which damping increases with the frequency. This object is achieved by a steel spring and/or a set of steel springs which, according to the invention, is installed in a vessel containing a highly viscous medium. The invention can be used in industrial, residential and commercial building and for protecting individual items of equipment or units. <IMAGE>
