PURPOSE:To have stable combustion throughout the operating range of an engine, by furnishing a control plate consisting of bi-metal etc. along the wall surface of suction port and by controlling swirl through deformation of this plate according to the operating condition of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A micro-computer 12 monitors the number of revolutions load and oil temp. of an engine with the aid of sensors 13-15, and in its memory part the condition on which current is supplied to a bi-metal 8 is entered. Accordingly if the operating condition of the engine meets this imposed condition, the micro-computer 12 emits a command to a drive circuit 11, which will supply current to the bi-metal 8. Then the bi-metal 8 is deformed so that its tip shifts inward apart from the wall 4 of the intake port 2 to cause change of suction stream passing through the intake port 2, or turbulence of the suction gas. Thus the optimum swirl in accordance with the operating condition of the engine can be attained in the cylinder. |
