An inflow connection piece (4) and an outflow connection piece (6) are arranged on a cylindrical housing (2). Situated on either side of these are a forward-flow connection piece (8) and a return-flow connection piece (10) for connection to an air conditioning apparatus. The return-flow connection piece (10) and the outlet connection piece (6) are permanently connected via an outlet chamber (20). The inlet connection piece (4) is connected, on the one hand via a valve arrangement (22, 26), to the forward-flow connection piece (8) and, on the other hand via a bypass (44) with a valve arrangement (24, 28), to the outlet connection piece (6). The valve elements (26, 28) arranged on a common valve axis (30) are alternately employed such that, when the bypass (44) is closed, the connection of the inlet connection piece (4) to the forward-flow connection piece (8) is open, and vice versa. <IMAGE>
