A cable-end screw union (1) consists of an insertion part (3) which is screwed into an opening of an apparatus at one end, and of a compression screw (5). The insertion part (3) has an external threaded section (13), a hexagonal-headed section (15) and a hollow-cylindrical section (17). There is a central cable passage duct (19, 21) in each case in the insertion part (3) and in the compression screw (5). As a result of screwing the compression screw (5) into a thread (27) in the hollow-cylindrical section (17), a rubber sleeve (7) which is arranged therein is pressed against the cable and thus seals the space between the cable and the inner wall of the hollow-cylindrical section (17). The compression screw (5) is provided with a tension-relief mechanism (33, 35) for the cable. Provided externally on the hollow-cylindrical section (17) is a flat surface (39) on which in each case one surface (41) of the hexagonal head (23) of the compression screw (5) is aligned in a flush manner. A sleeve (11) which is matched to the flat surface (39) and to the hexagonal head (23) produces a positively-locking connection, protected against rotation, between the hexagonal head (23) and the hollow-cylindrical section (17). <IMAGE>
