Device for framing a film image by means of a slide frame having pouches which laterally embrace the perforation or the edge region of a film image, to be framed, at at least two opposite sides and have along another side an aperture opening into an outer surface of the slide frame, the aperture being somewhat wider in the direction extending parallel to the other side than the film image to be framed, and the space, formed by the pouches and the aperture, in the plane of the film image having the dimensions of the film image to be framed, characterised by a bearing surface, which is arranged inclined relative to the plane of a film which can be fed in an essentially horizontal fashion, for supporting a slide frame, which is still empty, in such a way that the aperture is essentially aligned with the plane of the film being fed; and a cutting device, partially overlapping the slide frame in the region of the aperture, for severing from the film the film image inserted into the pouches of the slide frame supported on the bearing surface. <IMAGE>
