PURPOSE:To move a caterpillar type vehicle without road surfaces being damaged, by providing such an arrangement that a protecting belt is guided by a plurality of pairs of guide rollers which hold therebetween the protecting belt. CONSTITUTION:A protecting belt 1 is composed of shock absorbing plates A made of rubbers or the like. In order to constitute an endless protecting belt 1 with main plates 2 and spacers 3, the main plates 2 and the spacers 3 which are alternately laid in parallel with each other, are linked by passing wires 4 through through-holes 4, 5. Then, the wires 4 are looped together with the main plates 4 and the spacers 3 which are linked, and both ends 4a, 4b of the wires 4 are inserted in holes 7a, 7b formed in binding fixtures 8 for overlapping and piercing both ends 4a, 4b of the wires 4 so that both ends are overlapped together. Both ends of the wires are overlapped and fastened by applying pressure to the fixtures 8 to be binded together. Thereby, the endless protecting belt 1 is constituted. When the protecting belt 1 is installed to a vehicle, it is held between guide rollers 12, 12 with both side edges being substantially made into contact with the guide rollers 12, 12. |
