S-connection

An S-connection for a sanitary fitting in which there is integrated a sound absorber, whose diaphragm which oscillates against an air cushion is not arranged directly in the path through which water flows but is indirectly coupled thereto via a branch channel through which no flow occurs is described. As a result, the frequency range in which the sound absorber is effective can be influenced in accordance with the dimensions of the branch channel and, in particular, can be displaced into a lower range in which conventional sound absorbers are not effective. By combination with conventional sound absorbers which are likewise inserted into the housing of the S-connection, directly in the path through which water flows, a particularly wide-band sound-absorbing effect is achieved (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
