The video signal recording and/or reproducing system comprises a discriminating signal generating circuit (20) for generating a plurality of first and second discriminating signals a mixing and multiplexing circuit (16) for respectively and alternately changing over the first and second disriminating signals and mixing and multiplexing the first and second discriminating signals into the video signal, recording means (21a, 21b) for recording the above multiplexed signal, onto the recording medium, reproducing means (21a, 21b, 23a, 23b, 24) for reproducing the recorded multiplexed signal discriminating and reproducing means (33) for discriminating and reproducing the first and second discriminating signals, demodulating means (25, 26) for obtaining the video signal from the reproduced signal and demodulating the video signal thus obtained, and means (32) for using the discriminating signal as a pre-established information. The first discriminating signals are recorded on one of the adjacent recording tracks, and the second discriminating signals are recorded on the other of the adjacent tracks, by the recording means. |
