PURPOSE:To enable water pressure testing in higher pressure, by applying external pressure to the end surfaces of a pipe by pressurized water passing through the ring shaped packing peripheral grooves of closure bodies provided to both ends of the pipe. CONSTITUTION:The pipe P attached to the attachment parts of pressing machines 10 are inserted into closure bodies A, B and the end surfaces of the pipe is pressed into plate shaped packings 5 by operating the pressing machines 10. When water is passed through water passages 1a, 4a, the pipe P is filled with water and, at the same time, water is passed through branched water passages 2a to fill the water passing peripheral grooves 5a of the ring shaped packings and flowed out to the outside from the outlet pipe 7 of the closure body B. When the valve of a water passage 1b is closed, the same water pressure is applied to the entire water passing system and, because the diameter enlargement of the end part of the pipe P is suppressed by water pressure applied to the peripheral groove 5a of the ring shaped packing 5, water pressure testing is enabled in higher pressure. |
