A suture pack comprises a first film portion (10) with a trough-like depression (11) in which a folded card (12), holding most of the or each suture, is accommodated. The depression (11) is covered by a second film portion (13) which is sealed to the first film portion (10). The pack is opened by pulling apart two tear-open tabs (14, 15) to tear the second film portion (13). A tab (33) which consists of a part punched out from the upper side of the folded card (12), is fixed to that end of the tear-off region of the second film portion (13) which is remote from the tear-off tabs (14, 15), so as to stand up at the end of the tearing movement.
