Separator for an electrolytic capacitor, characterised in that it is comprised of the association of at least one porous plastic sheet and at least one absorbing paper sheet impregnated with an electrolyte. The porous plastic material is preferably a porous polyester, particularly porous polybutylene terephtalate. Another object of the invention is an electrolytic capacitor comprising between an anode and a cathode such a separator, the porous plastic sheet being arranged against the anode.
