<p>PURPOSE:To make especially the front and rear ends of a material to be rolled excellent in dimensions and shape by providing a compressive force corresponding to a rolling schedule to the front and rear ends of the material too. CONSTITUTION:A control device 40 for a tensile or a compressive force calculates basing on a signal of a rolling torque, a detecting signal of a rolling load meter 21, and a detecting signal of a detector 42 of motor corresponding to the pattern of the compressive force to output the correcting amount of the speed of a driving motor 31 of the 1st stand to an adder 37. In this way, the speed of the motor 31 is controlled. When a material to be rolled is bitten by the 3rd stand 3, a compressive force controlling device 41 calculates the correcting amount of the speed of a driving motor 32 of the 2nd stand to output the results to an adder 38, thereby the speed of the motor 32 is controlled in this way. For the rear end of the material, a compressive force is provided, by detecting the rear end, to the rear end of material in the same manner as for the front end.</p> |
