PURPOSE:To perform quickly a pretreatment of a sample in a hydride generator used for atomic absorption and emission analysis generated by hydride by heating a sample thereby increasing an auxiliary reducing speed. CONSTITUTION:An intended sample 12 drawn with a metering pump 1 is mixed therein with an acid 13 and a preliminary reducing agent 14, and after the mixture composed thereof is passed through a preliminary reducing coil 4 made of glass or the like heated by a water bath, etc., then the mixture is brought into reaction with sodium borohydride and a hydride is formed. The preliminary reduction reaction of, for example, the pentavalent arsenic in the soln. to trivalent arsenic is quickly progressed by the heating in this state, by which the use of the sample for analysis is made possible in 2-3min. Even if the component having different valency exists in the sample 12, the valency thereof coincides and no change arises in the sensitivity any more. The accuracy in quantitative determination is considerably improved and the quick analysis is made possible by the pretreatment with the above-mentioned device. |
