PURPOSE:To obtain an always optimal steering force, by connecting reaction chambers on both the sides of a control valve to each other through a communication passage provided with a reaction force adjusting valve and by controlling the adjusting valve in response to the speed of a vehicle to decrease the ratio of its angular velocity of yaw to its steering speed. CONSTITUTION:A power steering gear 10 comprises an oil pump 11, a flow control valve 12, a control valve 13 and a power cylinder 14. A pair of reaction chamber 43, 44 are provided on both the sides of the control valve 13 and connected to each other through a communication passage 15 equipped with a reaction force adjusting valve 16, which is driven by an actuator 65 to adjust the flow rate. The actuator 65 is regulated by a control unit 60. The outputs of a vehicle speed sensor 62, a steering speed sensor 63 and a yaw angular velocity sensor 64 are applied to a controller 61 to regulate the actuator 65 in response to the vehicle speed to always decrease the ratio of the yaw angular velocity to the steering speed. |
