PURPOSE:To obtain a double timing belt provided with upper and lower teeth uniformly arranged and having uniform pitch line difference (PLD), by a method wherein an unvulcanized rubber sheet and a rubber-coated canvas are laminated on the back side of a timing belt which is previously molded and vulcanized, and then the laminate is heated under pressure from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A timing belt (a lower tooth form part 4) is obtained by previously molding and vulcanizing in a toothed mold M. The timing belt is engaged to two toothed pulleys P1, P2 adjustable in the distance between the axes thereof, and then an upper tooth part on the back side of a tensile body 2 is molded and vulcanized. An adhesive is applied onto an exposed surface of the tensile body 2 of the thus vulcanized tooth form molded body, the unvulcanized rubber sheet 6 is adhered, and a rubberized stretchable canvas 5 is laminatedly wound thereon. The thus obtained material is clamped between grooved metallic press dies R1, R2, is heated under pressure from the outside, whereby partial upper teeth are continuously formed on the back side of the belt, and the desired double timing belt is obtained. |
