PURPOSE:To increase the softening temp. of an Au-Pt-Pd-Ag type sliding contact material and to improve the welding resistance during sliding by adding a specified element to the contact material. CONSTITUTION:To an alloy consisting of 19-21% Au, 4-6% Pt, 44-46% Pd and 29-31% Ag as a sliding contact material, especially as a brush contact material is added 0.5-15% at least one among Al, Ga, Mn, Ni, Ge and Si without changing the ratio in the composition. By adding the element, the softening temp. of the Au-Pt-Ag type sliding contact material is increased, the welding resistance during sliding is improved, and the amount of powder produced by wear is reduced. |
