PURPOSE:To prevent defective biting in a stand and generation of an excess crop loss by lowering an idle roll and rolling down and setting the upward cambering part of a rolled material when the height of the upward camber at the end part of the rolled material is detected with a detector. CONSTITUTION:The height (a) of the upward camber at the top end of a sheet bar 20 discharged from an upper stream stand 10 is detected with a detector 14 and the detected value is outputted to a control device 22. The rolling speed of a sheet bar 20 is inputted to the device 22 as well. When the top end of the upward cambering part 20A arrives at a setting means 24, the device 22 emits a selection signal to a solenoid operated switching valve 40 to command the valve so that an idle roll for rolling down moves down to the height (a). The idle roll 26 is rolled down in rolling contact with the bar 20 to flatten the bar in the direction of setting the camber at the part 20A. The bar 20 subjected to the setting is then transferred to a succeeding rolling stand 12. |
