<p>PURPOSE:To produce a plain bearing which has high adhesive strength between a bearing backing metal and a bearing alloy and has stable performance by a irradiating a welding arc to a plating layer formed on the bearing backing metal of an iron material to melt said layer then welding the bearing alloy via the plating layer thereto. CONSTITUTION:An arc is irradiated by using a welding torch 3 without adding any filler metal to TIG welding over the entire surface of a plating layer 2 of tin formed preliminarily on the bearing backing metal 1 of an iron material to melt said layer, thereby forming an alloy layer. A partition plate 4 is provided in the end part on the adhering surface side of the metal 1 and the melt of a bearing alloy 5 such as white metal is charged thereon the is cooled to form a bearing surface. The alloy 5 is thus securely and tightly adhered, via said alloy layer, to the metal 1, and the plain bearing having stable bearing performance without penetration of the iron is obtd.</p> |
