PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which cuts smoothly a metallic pipe body to be cut without generating collapsion and burrs by providing opposing electrodes on the sencondary side of a transformer, and providing means for connecting electrically the electrdes to said pipe which is mounted between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Upper electrodes 1, 1' of a pair of electrode for conducting electricity and clamping are positioned to face each other at a specified spacing (d), and are connected respectively movably to cylinders 2, 2'. The electrodes 1, 1' are connected to the secondary side of a transformer 3. An object 4 to be cut such as a bellows pipe, wire rope or the like is clamped by means of upper electrodes 1, 1' and lower electrodes 5, 5'. The electrodes 5, 5' are fixed to a mounting base 7 via an insulating part 6 apart at a specified space. The electrodes 1, 1' and the electrodes 5, 5' are connected by means of connecting wires 8. If a current value is selected and current is conducted to the object 4, Joule heat is generated at the space (d) between the electrodes 1 and 1' by the specific resistance of the object 4 and the pipe body, etc. are easily cut without generation of collapsion, burrs, etc. |
