ARC OSCILLATING METHOD IN TIG WELDING

PURPOSE:To oscillate an arc with ease and to improve the wettability of beads by oscillating an electrically heated filler wire in the direction vertical to a weld line between two electrodes which generate the arc between base material and are disposed in a V shape. CONSTITUTION:An arc of a DC positive polarity is generated between two electrodes 1, 2 which are disposed in a V shape for TIG welding and base materials and an electrically heated filler wire 3 is fed between the electrodes 1 and 2. The wire 3 is oscillated mechanically in the direction vertical to the weld line. Since the arc current and the wire current are in the same direction, the arc is attracted to the wire 3 side by the effect of a magnetic line of force and a pool 4 is stirred by the oscillating effect thereof, whereby the wettability of beads is improved and the welding speed is increased.
