Only a programmable timing circuit is to be used for limiting glow duration and preheating in engine-independent vehicle heating systems.
<??>The required switching time for preheating is based on a divider output which does not set the overall time. With this time which can be set at the timing circuit, the switching times of all the other divider outputs are then determined in accordance with the integrated program. The pulse for limiting the glow duration is tapped off from the divider output which sets the overall time and is conducted to a transistor. The transistor itself controls the timing range input.
<??>If, after the start, the first L-H edge is produced which does not lead to any reaction when there is a direct connection of divider output and timing range input, the transistor is driven and an H-L edge appears at the timing range input, as a consequence of which the limiting of the glow duration is effective even after half the time resulting from the standard wiring.
