PURPOSE:To eliminate a backlash at the rear end of an electrode plate or its winding to buff rolls by detecting the rear end of the electrode plate with a detector and controlling the rotation speed and direction of the first and the second buff rolls so as to buff-polish the front half portion and the rear half portion of the electrode plate in different directions. CONSTITUTION:An electrode plate is shifted in the arrow direction and passes through a pair of upper and lower feed rollers 1, and both upper and lower surfaces of the front half portion of the electrode plate are buff-polished by a pair of the first upper and lower buff rolls 2 rotating at a high speed in the same direction. The second buff rolls 3 and feed rollers 4 at the outlet side shift the electrode plate at the same speed as that of feed rollers 1 at the inlet side. The last end of the electrode plate is detected by a detector 5, high-speed rotation clutches 6, 7 and a low-speed rotation clutch 8 are simultaneously switched, the first buff rolls 2 are made feed rolls and the second buff rolls 3 are applied with a reverse high-speed rotation, thus the rear half portion of the electrode plate is buff-polished, and the buff machining of the overall electrode plate is completed. Accordingly, the winding of the overall electrode plate to buff rolls or the breakage of its effective portion can be prevented from occurring, and the productivity of the electrode plate buff machining can be improved. |
