Complex coverings, their method of manufacture and their applications, especially in the field of internal linings for motor vehicles and footwear

These complex coverings comprise a layer of synthetic copolymers which is chosen from non-crosslinkable acrylic ester copolymers and ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers; this layer is combined, on the one hand, with a decorative layer and, on the other hand, with a layer of expanded foam made from polyurethane resin or from a molten resin coming out directly from an injection machine. The method for obtaining these coverings consists in applying, by a coating method, to one of the faces of the decorative layer, a layer of foam of non-crosslinkable acrylic ester in the form of an aqueous emulsion to which are optionally added barrier agents and/or opacifying agents and/or colouring pigments, and in drying the coating layer before subjecting it to a hot calendering treatment.
