PURPOSE:To prevent any increase in the internal resistance of an organic solvent battery which might be caused due to the passive state of the surface of a negative active material by causing a minute current to flow in the battery even during its storage. CONSTITUTION:A load resistance 7 for preventing impedance increase which consumes 1/1,000-1/100 of the electric capacity of the battery, is connected between a positive case 1 and a negative lid 4. By thus feeding a given minute current constantly, the surface of a negative active material can be prevented from becoming a passive state by constantly breaking a developed passive state film, and reduction in the operation voltage of the battery caused during service interruption can be suppressed. |
