PURPOSE:To enhance the drive efficiency with a simple configuration by bonding an electrostrictive element to a plurality of birators of concentrical circular ring to generate traveling vibration wave, and frictionally driving a rotor which contacts with the vibrators. CONSTITUTION:An electrostrictive element 3 which is arrayed to generate a phase difference or polarized to generate a phase difference to the vibration wave generated at the vibrators 3, is bonded to a plurality or vibrators 2 of concentrical circular ring disposed on a rotor 1. Voltages from AC power sources 14a, 16a are applied to the element 3 to allow the vibrators 2 to generate traveling vibration waves. The rotor 1 which contacts with the vibrators 2 is frictionally driven by the traveling elastic wave. |
