The magnetic circuit is produced from magnetic elements arranged so as to form magnetic paths between opposing poles. The magnetic elements 1, 2 are obtained from a continous corrugated band 8 formed into a single unit, the folds of the band 8 being arranged between the poles of opposite designations so as to form simultaneously a pole and a yoke part 9. The width of each magnetic element 1, 2 is equal to the length of the magnetic circuit. Application to DC and AC electric machines with salient poles. <IMAGE>
