PURPOSE:To form a liquid crystal display body having a uniform cell thickness by using at least two sheets of curved substrates which sandwich a liquid crystal, placing the two substrates oppositely to each other in such a way that the surfaces of projecting side face the liquid crystal side, distributing a gap material in the cell and assembling the liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets of substrates 11, 21 are positioned face to face so that the projecting surfaces face each other. Transparent electrodes 12, 22 and oriented films 12, 23 are formed on the respective substrates. A gap material 24 of glass fiber, glass beads, etc. is sprayed on the surface on the liquid crystal side of the substrate 21. The circumference is fixed by a sealant 25 and the material 24 is disposed between the substrates 11 and 21. The substrates 11, 21 are positioned oppositely to each other with the liquid 30 side on the projecting side and are fixed by the material 24; therefore the force trying to narrow the cell interval acts in the sandwiching part of the liquid crystal 30. However, the material 24 is scattered in the liquid crystal 30 therefore the intercell gap is fixed by the spacing determined by the material 24 and the liquid crystal panel having a uniform cell thickness is obtd. |
