The invention relates to processes and apparatuses for packaging fibre flocks into bales of equal weight. By the use of transportable press containers and dynamometer devices which make it possible to weigh the press container, including its content, in the prepress, without touching sealing-off devices between the individual pressing operations, it is possible to determine the increase in weight of the press container for each movement of the clearer and to predetermine the total number of necessary clearer movements required in order to obtain a predetermined bale weight. The invention allows the production of bales, the weight of which fluctuates, for example, only by +/- 2kg.
