<p>The braking device (15, 16, 17) arranged within a wheel head (2) having within a hub-shaped casing (1) a reduction/planetary gear (6) at the end of a differential shaft (4) enables, by means of an axial segmentation, both a larger number of possibilities for the equipment in large series of prefabricated shafts and an improvement of the efficiency of the braking device when the manufacturing and maintainance conditions are improved, without affecting the construction speed, respectively the compactness of the wheel head. On the sleeve-shaped link portion (17) which rigidly connects the axle shaft portion (4A) to the sun wheel shaft (4B) which extends it, there is arranged on the substantially enlarged diameter (preferably almost on the middle of the planet pinion carrier shaft (7)) a brake support toothed crown (20), thereby providing annular surfaces of brake disks, for double purposes. Even for high speeds, this may be designed with a particularly thin configuration and with spring self-return owing to the short mounting thereof between the inner toothing (9) of the inner toothing wheel (10) and the raised brake support toothed crown (20) without any danger of oscillation of wobbling. Upon higher sollicitations, a more intensive cooling is provided by the lubricating oil which accumulates outside the drive. On the sun wheel toothing (5), a slot (43) situated between the hollow shaft (12) and the differential shaft (4) is closed by means of the link portion (17) by means of a lip seal (44) and a static and direct adherance link is produced between the cap (3) and the hollow shaft (12).</p> |
