A process and plant are described for purifying waste waters polluted with organic wastes, in which a centrifugal separator and a screening device are used. In order to avoid frequent removal of waste from the centrifugal separator, it is proposed according to the invention to deliver the content of the separator, after homogeneous circulation thereof, to the screening machine, which screens off the floating and settling particles separated in the separator.
