<p>PURPOSE:To always maintain correctly the temp. on the side faces of a slab by providing a temp. detector which detects the heating temp. on the side faces, and a control device which controls the space between the front of the side face and the side faces between side face inductors in accordance with the temp. detected with said detector. CONSTITUTION:Spaces g1, g2 between top and bottom surfaces are set roughly at the same value, and top and bottom surface inductors 1, 2 are fixed. The side faces of a slab 3 after passage through the inductors 1, 2, 4 are measured by a temp. detector 11. The values measured with the detector are fed to a control device 12 which compares the values with reference temp. If the values are higher than the reference temp., the control device retreats the inductor 4 to widen the space g3 between the side faces. If the measured temp. is lower than the reference temp., the device advances the inductor 4 to narrow the space g3.</p> |
