PURPOSE:To obtain magnetic characteristics including large magnetic permeability and max. magnetic flux density and small coefft. of loss in a high-frequency region by incorporating a specific ratio of SiO and/or CaO into Mn-Zn ferrite and providing a specific average grain size thereof. CONSTITUTION:The material of this magnetic head is the Mn-Zn ferrite which contains 53-54.4mol% Fe2O3 and 15-70mol% ZnO and into which <=0.02wt% SiO and/or <=0.1wt% CaO is incorporated. The average grain size thereof is adjusted to <=80mum. The magnet head has a core having >=5,000G magnetic flux density at 20 deg.C, DC and 150e and is used at 0.5-10MHz recording freqency. Such magnetic head has the large strength at the grain boundary of the front core and has the excellent magnetic characteristics including the large magnetic permeability and max. magnetic flux density in the high-frequency region of 0.5-10MHz and small coefft. of loss. The magnetic head is thereby made usable for writing, reading out, erasing, etc., in magnetic recording in a computer, etc. |
