Pipe separator (1) provided with a housing (2) having an inlet (5), an outlet (6) and a separation chamber (14) which may be combined with a discharge (9). Between the inlet (5) and the outlet (6) there is provided a stop element (10) which, in a first position, connects the inlet (5) to the outlet (6) and which, in a second position, separates the inlet (5) from the outlet (6) and connects the outlet (6) to the separation chamber (14). In order to prevent impurities from entering into the separation chamber (14) and thus into the pipe system which may be connected with the inlet (5) and the outlet (6), the separation chamber (14) is made tight against impurities. A filter (24) is preferably provided between the separation chamber (14) and the discharge (9).
