Housing for the damping of intake noise of a gaseous fluid medium

A noise-damping housing for sound waves emanating from a gaseous fluid medium is designed as an ellipsoid (2). The inlet for the fluid medium lies in the area between the two focal points (7), whilst the outlet is in the area of the ends of the main axis (5). Provided in each case in the area of the focal points (7) is a partition wall (8) running in a radial plane relative to the main axis (5) and having non-return valves (4) closing in the direction towards the centre of the ellipsoid.
