PURPOSE:To obtain a clear color image and to inhibit reduction in the density of the image by incorporating a specified compound into an image receiving layer forming the image receiving element of a heat developable photographic material. CONSTITUTION:A heat developable photographic material is composed essentially of a photosensitive element and an image receiving element in a superposed state, and a compound represented by a formula X-(Y-Z)n [where X is 1-20C alkyl, 6-20C aryl, 1-6C alkylene, 6-20C arylenealkylene, R<1>-Cidentical(R<1> is H, 1-6C alkyl or 6-13C aryl), quat. C or a heterocyclic group contg. N; Y is an electron withdrawing group; Z is -CH=CHR<1> or a group represented by formula I or II (W is a group replaceable with a nucleophilic group); and n is 1-4] is incorporated into an image receiving layer forming the image receiving element. When the heat developable photographic material is developed by heating, a sublimable dye or a precursor thereof is released from the photosensitive element contg. a dye providing substance, and it is transferred and fixed to the compound contained in the image receiving element superposed on the photosensitive element to form a clear color image undergoing little change with the lapse of time. |
